Microneedle Skin Pen

Microneedle And Prp Therapy Microneedling Skinpen®

Microneedling is a safe in-office cosmetic skin rejuvenation treatment designed to treat a number of skin conditions.
Microneedling is a non-surgical procedure in which multiple precise “micro-injuries” are made to the skin. Thousands of microchannels in the skin serve to stimulate the body’s natural healing response and increase collagen production through collagen induction therapy (CIT). Collagen and elastin are natural elements produced by our skin to heal itself and promote a more youthful appearance.
We use SkinPen® for our microneedling services. The first microneedling device to receive FDA approval, SkinPen® is safe and effective for all skin types and tones.
If you are curious about what microneedling can do for your appearance, call our office at 210-651-1112 to schedule a consultation.

What does microneedling treat?

Microneedling uses the body’s natural healing response to improve the appearance of:

Skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, trauma scars, stretch marks.

Microneedling is a gentler anti-aging treatment than other forms of skin rejuvenation, including lasers and IPLs, as it is more controlled and without heat or ablation.

WHAT ARE THE PHASES OF HEALING WITH MICRONEEDLING?

Your skin recovers in stages after microneedling treatment. These are:

Inflammation. After treatment, the area will swell slightly and turn slightly pink or red as the body sends fresh blood and oxygen to the skin. This begins the healing response. Proliferation. Collagen and elastin, which are part of the extracellular matrix, begin to form along with new blood vessels that remodel. New dermal tissues and blood vessels form in the area.

Safe and effective, clinical studies have found that 90% of microneedling patients would recommend the treatment to family and friends. Call our office today to schedule your consultation and find out if microneedling is right for you.

THE MICRONEEDLING PROCESS

During the microneedling procedure in our office, the SkinPen® moves evenly over the treatment area, creating thousands of precise microlesions in the top layer of the dermis and spontaneously triggering the synthesis of new collagen, all without forming scar tissue. The extensive training provided by our estheticians allows for the controlled induction of the skin’s self-repair process.

DOES MICRONEEDLING HURT?

Microneedling is performed after treatment with a topical numbing cream, which helps protect against discomfort. The procedure is not considered painful and is well tolerated by most patients.

MICRONEEDLING RECOVERY

As a non-surgical procedure, microneedling will require little to no downtime. There may be some redness and swelling in the treatment area and the skin may feel tight, but these things tend to resolve on their own within a few days.

Spot bleeding is possible with some levels of treatment. This stops almost immediately and will come off along with the dead skin cells once dry. It is important not to touch the treatment area during the healing phase.

Taking care of your skin after microneedling is important for both your comfort and best results. During your stay in our care, we will ensure that you understand all pre- and post-treatment instructions to help ensure your continued comfort.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

The number of treatments needed varies from patient to patient and depends on their unique needs. At your consultation, we will provide you with a personalized plan to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

CANDIDATES FOR MICRONEEDLING

SkinPen® is safe and effective for all skin types. Minimally invasive and non-surgical, microneedling requires little preparation and does not interfere with normal activities. Some minor discomfort may occur after treatment, but this is easily resolved with proper skin care.

Our certified esthetician will perform a thorough skin analysis and listen carefully to your goals before formulating a comprehensive skin care plan. We will also recommend the appropriate post-procedure skin care products to assist with the rejuvenation process.

IS MICRONEEDLING PERMANENT?

Scars and stretch marks treated with microneedling will not reappear. Fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, and other skin conditions may reappear, although proper skin care after treatment can delay or reduce these problems.

Unlike laser treatment, microneedling can be performed repeatedly without the risk of scar tissue building up. It is safe to undergo additional treatments.

PRP facial treatment

You’ve probably seen the photos on Instagram over the past few years of celebrities or beauty content creators with faces seemingly covered in blood. What might be confused with SPOOKY MAKEUP is actually a skin care treatment often called platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. Basically, a mask made from a component of your OWN blood and not anyone else’s is spread over your entire face to rejuvenate your complexion. As scary as this technique may seem, it actually offers stunning, virtually painless results that will make your skin glow.

In recent months, PRP treatments have become highly sought after in the United States by people looking for an alternative to dermal fillers to plump their skin; Many consider PRP to be safer than injectables. The reason is: “You are using your own cells.” With all this in mind, PRP is the future of skincare. PRP is also an important part of the latest hair loss treatment. It has even been shown to be an effective procedure for people with alopecia. Microneedling with PRP facial treatment has also become popular among men.

What exactly is PRP?

When blood is placed in a centrifuge, it is separated into three distinct layers: plasma at the top, platelets and blood cells in the middle, and red blood cells at the bottom. PRP is derived from the central part, also known as the “serum portion.”

Platelets, in particular, contain sacs called alpha granules, which secrete high levels of growth factors—more than 20, if you want to get into specifics. “They have been shown to be effective in ‘wound healing’ as well as improving skin elasticity, volume and texture.”

When platelet-rich plasma is reintroduced into the skin on its own through a non-invasive procedure, cell renewal is stimulated and, in turn, collagen and elastin production is increased for a smoother, plumper, and plumper complexion.

What is the PRP process like?

Now, you’re probably wondering how blood goes from flowing through your veins to spreading across your face. Well, first you’ll have to draw your blood. The blood vials are then placed in a centrifuge to isolate the platelets from the red blood cells.

From there, your doctor could go a couple different routes with PRP. Its platelets can be injected directly into the skin as fillers “to stimulate collagen production and achieve rejuvenation.”

Alternatively, you can combine your PRP treatment with microneedling.

This procedure prepares your skin for the PRP to spread throughout it. These combinations further stimulate collagen production, reduce fine lines, and accelerate wound healing.

Depending on how aggressive the microdermabrasion was, recovery may take a day or two of downtime before you are ready to hit the road. You will probably come out of the treatment a little red, almost like a sunburn. Even the use of sunscreen after the procedure is highly recommended. However, makeup is discouraged.

Vayu staff will provide you with detailed post-procedure instructions.

Who benefits most from PRP treatments?

hose with premature wrinkles, high levels of sun damage, or anyone desiring a fresher, more even-toned complexion are ideal candidates for PRP facial treatment. However, if you have a history of blood diseases, including clotting or bleeding disorders, you should avoid PRP treatments.

In the risks and side effects department you won’t find as many as you imagine. In fact, the only risk you really run is bruising from having your blood drawn, as well as possible minor bruising to your face from the injections or microneedling.
