Dr. Manjulatha Badam, MD, CWSP, UHM, Hyperbaric Medicine Specialist & Wound Care Physician
Dr. Manjulatha Badam MD, CWSP, UHM, is trained and certified in internal medicine, wound care, and undersea and hyperbaric medicine with over 18 years of clinical experience in limb amputation prevention and chronic wound healing. Known for her compassion and bedside manner, Dr. Badam strives to improve the standard of wound care and hyperbaric exercises at Vayu Advanced Wound Clinic and Hyperbarics in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Badam completed her Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and a fellowship in Hyperbaric and Undersea Medicine at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.
To stay current with the latest advances in her field, Dr. Badam maintains professional memberships in the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, Bexar County Medical Society, American Medical Association, Wound Society and the American Medical Society. College of Physicians.
Dr. Badam has won several awards recognizing her for her teaching skills and medical prowess as a hyperbaric and wound care physician. That is to say, she has won the faculty award from Weill Cornell Medical College in Houston and the best doctor in the United States award for eleven consecutive years.
As a Practice head, Dr. Badam ensures that every patient is treated with dignity, empathy, and expert care.
Don Dennis
Don Dennis is a retired Navy Diver and seasoned hyperbaric professional, currently serving as the Safety Director and Certified Hyperbaric Specialist at Vayu. In this role, he enforces strict hyperbaric safety guidelines and oversees clinic operations to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and care.
With more than 45 years of diving and hyperbaric medicine experience, Don brings unmatched expertise in safety governance, risk management, and clinical oversight. His extensive military background, combined with decades of hands-on hyperbaric practice, has positioned him as a trusted leader in advancing safe and effective hyperbaric treatments.
A lifelong advocate for safety and excellence, Don continues to dedicate his career to protecting patients and guiding clinical teams in the delivery of specialized hyperbaric therapies.
Don’s previous employment was at Baptist, University Health and Guadalupe hospitals.
Outside of work, Don enjoys fishing, auto restoration and diving.
Laura Rodriguez
Laura Rodriguez serves as Clinic Manager and Coordinator, bringing over 20 years of experience in the medical field. Throughout her career, she has built lasting professional relationships rooted in respect, trust, and patient-centered care. Her compassion, dedication, and commitment to making patients her priority are among her strongest qualities.
Laura’s background spans a wide range of specialties, including Bariatrics, ENT, Retina, and Hyperbarics, equipping her with a versatile skill set and a comprehensive understanding of clinical operations.
After moving to San Antonio with her husband and three children, Laura made her forever home in Lakehills, TX, where she continues to combine her professional expertise with her passion for patient care and clinic leadership
Jaya Penugonda
Jaya Penugonda is a Bachelor of Science graduate and is a highly skilled medical coder with years of focused experience in wound care and hyperbaric medicine.
With a deep understanding of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS Level II, and NCCI edits, she ensures accurate, compliant, and optimized coding for services that are both clinically complex and reimbursement-sensitive.
Collaborating closely with our wound care physicians, clinical staff, and billing teams, Jaya provides proactive guidance on documentation improvement and coding updates.
Outside of work, Jaya finds joy in spending time with family, seeking meaningful experiences and deeper connections through travel, cooking, and long walks.
Veronica Monroy
Veronica Monroy is the Lead Medical Assistant at Vayu, bringing more than 10 years of hands-on experience in patient care. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a focus on healthcare from Hallmark University and is a Certified Hyperbaric Chamber Technician.
In her role, Veronica combines her clinical expertise with her business training to support both patients and the medical team.
Outside of Vayu, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. Her creativity shines through her passion for crafting and home décor projects.
Jackie Espinoza
Jackie Espinoza is a dedicated Medical Receptionist at Vayu Advanced Wound Care and Hyperbarics, with over 6 years of experience in the medical field, including more than two years specializing in wound care at Vayu.
In addition to her reception responsibilities, Jackie also supports clinic operations in a Clinical Coordinator capacity, ensuring a seamless patient experience from check-in through follow-up care. She is passionate about wound care and takes pride in helping patients understand their treatment options while making them feel supported throughout their healing journey.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Jackie assists patients with mobility needs, educates them on treatments, and manages insurance verifications, scheduling, and payments. She is certified in microneedling, compression wraps, and other specialized procedures, and also contributes to the clinic’s marketing efforts.
Outside of work, Jackie enjoys crafting, spending time with her family, and exploring new ways to combine creativity with helping others
Faisal Najjar
Faisal Najjar is a Certified Hyperbaric Chamber Technician and a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he earned his degree in Biomedical Engineering.
With thousands of hours of hands-on experience working with a wide range of medical devices, Faisal brings both technical expertise and a compassionate approach to patient care. His knowledge and caring manner give patients confidence and reassurance throughout their treatment journey.
Outside of work, Faisal enjoys painting, gaming and running.
